When it comes to celebrities that are almost always associated with cannabis, you will be hardpressed to find someone that fits the description more than Seth Rogen. Whenever there is a list published of ‘top cannabis movies of all time’ it always includes at least one of Seth Rogen’s films, if not more than one.
Rogen is also a cannabis entrepreneur, which unlike some celebrities in the cannabis space, makes perfect sense given his long history as a known cannabis enthusiast. Seth Rogen also lends his voice and platform to cannabis reform efforts, including the video clip embedded below for the Cannabis Voter Project in which Rogen calls for national legalization in the United States:
Seth Rogen’s cannabis company, Houseplant, originally launched in Rogen’s home country Canada. It has since moved into the United States and reportedly has plans for further expansion to other countries.
Pairs Houseplant employee mentors with entrepreneurs from underinvested-in communities
Free to approved applicants
Lasts 6 months
Open to founders of early-stage ancillary or plant-touching cannabis businesses
Houseplant takes no equity in exchange for participation
In-House participants are expected to dedicate 5-10 hours to the program each month
The program reportedly already has at least one company that was approved for the mentor program, although it’s unclear how many companies the mentor program will have when it’s at full capacity. It’s also unclear if the program will be limited to certain jurisdictions or if it’s open to applicants worldwide.
Likely the only way to know what all is involved is to apply. According to the application’s instructions, it only takes 6 minutes to complete it, so it’s not a large time commitment.
